At this location, just south of Black Balsam Road, The Art Loeb and Mountains to Sea Trails follow the same path through the spruces and firs. The trail crosses Black Balsam Road and then splits. The Mountains to Sea trail goes right around this knob (eventually into the Graveyard Fields area), and the Art Loeb goes up over this unnamed knob before climbing Black Balsam Knob itself.
