You'll descend into the creek valley on a more typical section of dirt trail through a more typical Rhododendron thicket, before coming to this atypical triangular bridge. There's a surprise around every bend in Chimney Rock Park!  This little wading pool is above a small falls which is above 404' Hickory Nut Falls, so if you wade, don't even THINK about going below this bridge! The trail turns right and goes down to the base of the small falls & crosses on another bridge just above the brink of Hickory Nut Falls.
