Just beyond the bridge at the brink of the falls is this gate, which marks the start of the Cliff Trail. The Cliff Trail follows a natural ledge in the cliffs along the rim of the Hickory Nut Gorge, which runs from the top of Hickory Nut Falls roughly to the base of the Chimney. How convenient! This is just one of the incredible features that makes Chimney Rock Park so special.
