Surviving Hemlock beside the Bald Knob Ridge Trail

A tiny, healthy looking hemlock growing beside the Bald Knob Ridge trail in late 2016 miraculously showed no sign of Hemlock Wooly Adelgid infestation. Was it a genetic miracle resistant to the bugs, or just lucky not to pick up any this far? Maybe by the year 2026 or so, we'll know.
