The Commissary Trail as it wraps around an unnamed mountain, heading toward Bearwallow Ridge. This ridge, and the one behind it, Grassy Knob Ridge, have large grassy and fern-filled meadows on them. These meadows were at one point slated to be ski slopes (according to park rangers), but that plan was scrapped. The trail is also a park access road for the water station, so the surface graveled. The trail, since it is an old railroad bed, follows a gentle grade.
