(Note: the Subway is currently inaccessible, but it is still on the map and there appears to be a connecting point for it on the new staircase structure leading up through the Outcroppings. Hopefully it will be reopened soon.) "The Subway" is a narrow passage leading up through the Outcroppings. The Grotto is a rest stop along this trail. This interpretive sign explains how the Chimney, the Outcroppings and the Grotto were formed geologically.
