Deep Gap Trail at Mount Craig

The Deep Gap trail crosses Mount Craig, second-highest peak in the Appalachian mountains at 6,647 ft - just 37 ft lower than Mount Mitchell. A tree sprouting here would grow higher than Mount Mitchell's summit if it made it to to a good size.
