Fire Scalded Tree Beside the Mountains to Sea Trail

Wildfires scorched much of the area around the Mountains to Sea Trail on the west-facing slopes of Bald Knob, east of the North Fork Catawba River. The effects of the fire are most obvious around the middle section of the climb up Bald Knob.
