Young Red Spruce on the Walton Interpretive Trail

A crop of young Red Spruce trees grows in the woods beside the Walton Interpretive Trail. While many of the older spruce have died, the woods around thebog are filled with these little ones which may once again dominate someday if they're able to overcome the challenges of climate change, human intervention, and competition with other trees.
