This trail is located in the Grandfather Mountain State Park area. For a list of all the trails in that area, see the Grandfather Mountain State Park trails list page.

Climbs from the hiker parking area through a series of switchbacks through primarily spruce-fir woods, underneath the swinging bridge, and to the upper parking area and buildings. The understory is filled with rosebay rhododendron which bloom in July. Passes a big, neat cave shortly before going under the bridge. Makes a great alternative way to experience the bridge area and can be combined with the Grandfather and Grandfather Extension trails for a good, moderate loop hike.
