Dennis said: 56 year old male in average condition. Trailhead is up the gravel hill to the right from parking lot. Hiking from trailhead at Tremont elevation 1388' the trail is moderate to strenuous. Great views along the way, including a distant view of Foothills Parkway. Lumber Ridge is at 2.4 miles from start after a brief strenuous section. It is at elevation 2700'. Trekking poles helpful. Wet leaves can be very slippery. Trail is difficult enough to give you a good workout. Difficult with a loaded backpack. Up and back to your car is almost five miles. Great hike, good parking, easy to find.
