Here's the other view, from along NC Hwy. 105 in Foscoe, that some contend gave Grandfather Mountain its name. From here, the rock crag at the right would be the old man's chin, and he's lying on his back. Is it this one, or the one *in* the rock crag (which you get a close-up of when hiking the Profile Trail) that actually gave the mountain its name? Or both? Hike up there and decide for yourself!
