Shortly after heading up the summit trail, you'll reach the intersection with the Old Mitchell trail. Directly across from this intersection is a sign reading, "You are now 1 1/4 miles above sea level"! Or at least, there used to be - the sign has been removed since the trail was paved. I'm not sure if they're going to put it back or not.
