A traverse around the foot of Big Piney Ridge. From the south trailhead at Harmony Road, this beautifully built trail winds along the rocky mountainside, climbs through a few switchbacks, and passes a couple of nice viewpoints and lichen-encrusted rock outcrops before the junction with Big Piney Ridge trail. Keep right to stay on the Lower Piney trail, which passes another view and descends again around some switchbacks along rhododendron-filled slopes to the trail's other end at Suwannee Drive.
